Who Are We !
Anchal from its inception established its foundations and strength in its ability to conduct family focused programmes involving and covering the entire family building greater awareness, sensitivity and capacity building programmes to support individual and community health, education, reproductive and child health, child development, non-communicable diseases, with greater stress for families affected by HIV/AIDS and disability. The core area of Anchal work focuses upon people who are differently abled, extending support to ensure their inclusion into the mainstream of day-to-day living.
ACT considers challenges in the area of its intervention programmes as challenges facing each and every member of the community and family, necessitating the need to treat the target individuals as a part of the entire community and not as a single entity. The focus of ACT programmes and activities is on capacity building of the community and that of the family in particular to assume responsibility and to provide proper care and attention to their challenged or ailing members. The direct and active involvement of the community is the main strength of all ACT projects. We also encourage the target community to act in the given situation to enhance their status in society and to establish their rights as equal members of society. ACT is governed by a clearly stated document covering the objectives of the organization and a strict specifically defined ‘Code of Conduct’ clarifying to each individual how, he is to get about achieving those objectives. The ACT Governing Body is responsible for day to day functioning of the organization. It has seven members on the board with the President, Managing Secretary and Treasurer playing a vital role in its day-to-day execution of administrative responsibilities. The General Body has to meet once a year while the Governing Body meetings are as per the need but, definitely twice a year. |
